Our Children enjoy attending wyndford and st Gregory’s Primary, they like their teachers who themselves are very hard-working dedicated professionals who cannot get involved in our protests for fear of repercussions they may face. To Merge schools in these rushed proposals is unsafe to say the least, yes the council have stated that our children are being moved to be in an establishment to offer better education prospects and better building standards but they claim that in no way is this a money saving proposal, where it obviously is, they have promised an estimated £250,000 for extra transport for the Glasgow area to enable us to get our children to and from school but are NOT looking at the safety issues regarding this. If our children merged with Parkview or st Mary is this would be an area where there is also a local secondary school and this would mean 1500 pupils queuing for transport. I am sure that no pre secondary school parent would allow their young child to stand in a queue with teenagers waiting to board buses; this does not even bear thinking about.
Do our parents know that part of the proposals are to redeploy our teachers and indeed offer some premature retirement, our kids do not even get to stay settled with adults they know and trust.
thanks derek at st agnes's
